Maharashtrian Hirvi Mirchi cha Kharda and Zanzanit Lasnachi Chutney

Traditional Maharashtrian Style Hirvi Mirchi cha Thecha or Kharda.
This Green Chili Kharda is a very spicy and tasty Chutney, which is very popular in Maharashtra, especially in the villages. Pithla-Bhakri and Hirvya Mirchi Cha Thecha is a staple diet of a lot of people in rural Maharashtra.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 2 Persons

Hirvi Mirchi Kharda Or Thecha Ingredients
15 Green Fresh Chili
8-10 Garlic Petals
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Salt as per taste
2 Tablespoon Water

For the Tadka
1 Table spoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)

Preparation: Wash the Green Chilies. Heat the Pan and add 2 tablespoon Water, Green Chili and Garlic Petals and then cover with a lid and cook for 2 minutes on a slow flame. Remove the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes on a slow flame keep stirring.

Remove the Green Chilies and Garlic Petals and keep them aside for cooling. Then, add Salt and ground them in a Mortar [ Khalbatta ] to prepare a coarse paste.

Heat the Oil in a Pan and add the Mustard Seeds and Hing to prepare the Tadka and add to be the Green Chilies and Garlic and mix it well.

Then, fry for a minute and remove from flame. Let it cool down and then add the Lemon Juice and mix it nicely.
Our Hirvi Mirchi cha Thecha Or Kharda is ready for serve. Serve with Bhakti.

Simple Lasun Chutney Garlic Chutney
This Zanzanit Lasnachi Chutney is another traditional Maharashtrian Chutney, which is very popular in both the rural and urban regions of Maharashtra.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 2 Persons

Simple Lasun Chutney Ingredients:
8-10 Garlic Petals
2 Tablespoon Coconut (grated)
½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
½ Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Salt as per taste

Preparation
Ground the Garlic Petals in a Mortar [ Khalbatta ] to prepare a coarse paste and then add the Grated Coconut, Red Chili Powder, Salt, Lemon Juice and mix it well.

Remove the Lasun Chutney in a serving bowl and Serve with Rice Kanji or Pej or Bhakri.
