Calcium and Phosphorus and their Rich Food Sources

Calcium is of primary importance for the formation of bones and teeth and the proper and efficient functioning of the muscular and nervous tissues.

For laypersons the primary functions of Calcium are as follows:
1] Regulates the Heart Beat.
2] Regulates the Clotting and Bleeding time of the Blood.
3] Influences the irritability of the muscles and the blood.
4] Combined with Phosphorous builds the bones and teeth.
5] Gives the body strength and rigidity.

Foods Rich in Calcium Content:
Milk and Milk Products, Green and Leafy Vegetables.

Phosphorous is widely distributed in Food Products and hence there are less chance of its deficiency as compared with Calcium. Phosphorous is present in every tissue in the human body and it vital and most important function is the development of bones.

For laypersons the basic important functions of Phosphorous can be classified as under:
1] It is an important constituent for bone and teeth building and development in the human body.
2] It is necessary for the multiplication of cell in the body.
3] it is essential for the growth and nourishment of the body.

Foods Rich in Phosphorous Content:
Milk, Butter, Eggs, Meat, Fish, Whole Cereals and Nuts.

It will be thus safe to assume that if the Calcium requirement of the body is met then that diet will also supply the adequate quantity of Phosphorous, which is needed for the human body.
