This is a easy to implement Recipe for making at home sweet and tasty Shahee Potato Sheera or Upvasacha Batatyacha Shira as this Sheera is called in the Marathi language. This variation of the Sheera is healthy and nourishing, which is why it is prepared specially for fasting days in Maharashtra.
Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: – 3-4 Persons
4 Medium size Potatoes (boil, peal and mash)
¼ Cup Khoya
½ Cup Sugar
¼ Cup Milk
3 Table spoon Ghee
2-3 Sticks Saffron (soak in hot Milk of 2 Tea spoon)
1 Tea spoon Cardamom powder
Dry fruits for Garnishing

Boil the Potatoes, peal and mash them.
Heat the Ghee in a Kadhai and then add the mashed Potatoes. Fry till color changes in to the light brown.
Then add the Khoya and fry for 2-3 minutes and add the Milk and cook for 2 minutes on a slow flame.
Then add the Sugar, Saffron, Raisins and Cardamom Powder. Mix it well and then cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with Dry fruits.
