Recipe for Shingada (Water Chest-nuts) Halwa

This is a Recipe for preparing at home tasty and  delicious Shingada (Water Chest-nuts Flour) Pithacha Halwa. This Halwa dish mainly prepared on the days of fasting in Maharashtra it is extremely nourishing. This is a traditional and authentic Maharashtrian specialty sweet dish.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 2 Persons

Ingredients
1 Cup Shingada Flour
1 Cup Sugar
1 ¼ Cup Water or Milk
2 Table spoon Ghee

Preparation
Heat one table spoon of the Ghee in a frying pan. Then add the Shingada Flour and roast till color change in to light brown.
After that add Milk or water and cook on a slow sim for 5-10 minutes. Then add the Sugar and one table spoon Ghee and cook till it become loose.
The Halwa is ready; serve hot.
