Recipe for Methkoot

This is a Recipe for preparing at home Methkoot.  The Methkoot is a traditional Maharashtrian preparation, which is a great add on to a meal or snack; like a Chutney.

Methkoot Preparation Time: 60 Minutes
Serves: 8-10 Persons

Ingredients
1 Cup Chana Dal (Gram Dal)
¼ Cup Masoor Dal
¼ Cup Wheat
1 Table spoon Urad Dal
1 Table spoon Moong Dal
1 Inch piece of dry Ginger
1 Tea spoon Fenugreek
1 Tea spoon Mustard seeds
A little Asafetida
10 Red Chilies
½ Tea spoon Turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Preparation
Roast all Ingredients dry till brown except Turmeric and Salt. Grind into a powder and mix Salt, Turmeric with the Methkoot. Serve as Chutney powder. This can be eaten with Rice and pure Ghee or mixed with Curd as Raita.
