Phool Gobi Ke Patte Ki Sabzi

This is a Recipe for making at home Cauliflower Leaves Bhaji or Phool Gobi Ke Patte Ki Sabzi as this vegetable preparation is called in the Hindi language or Flower Chya Panachi Bhaji in Marathi. This is simple to make, yet wholesome vegetable dish for the main course meals.

Preparation Time 30 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 Persons

10-12 Cauliflower Leaves (chopped)
½ Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
1 Teaspoon Red Chili powder
Salt and Sugar as per taste

For the Tadka
1 Tablespoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida

Wash and chop the Cauliflower Leaves. Slightly roast the Besan.
Heat the Oil in a Kadai and add the Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida and chop the Cauliflower Leaves, mix it well and cover the Kadai with an inverted plate, keep some Water over the plate and cook the Bhaji for 5-7 minutes on a slow flame.
Remove the plate and add the Red Chili Powder, Salt, roasted Besan, mix it well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add the Sugar and mix it well.
Serve hot with Chapatti or Paratha.
