Simple Recipe for Sambar Masala

In this article, I have described a most simple and easy recipe to prepare Sambar Masala at home. The preparation hardly takes any time or effort once you have the ingredients listed below in place. The quantity of the ingredients can be proportionately increased or decreased depending upon the quantity of Sambar you wish to prepare.

One tablespoon Urad Dal [Black Gram Dal]
1 Tablespoon Harbara Dal [Brown Chana Dal]
1 Tablespoon Dried Coconut [ Shredded]
5-6 Dried Red Chilies [Lal Mirch]
1 Tablespoon Dhaniya [Coriander Seeds]
¼ Tablespoon Methi Seeds [Fenugreek Seeds]
8-10 Black Peppercorns [Kali Miri Ke Dane]

Roast all the ingredients, which, I have given above in a Kadai on a low flame. Remove from the flame before they are browned.
Then all that has to be done is to grind the roasted ingredients to a fine paste and use it as the Sambar Masala.
