Recipe for Maharastrian Tondlichi Bhaji

This is a Recipe for Maharastrian Tondlichi Bhaji. This is a vegetable preparation using the Gherkin, in a traditional and authentic Maharashtrian Style.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
500 Gram Tondli
½ Cup Coconut dry (shredded)
1 Table spoon White Sesame seeds
2 Tea spoon Garam Masala
1 Tea spoon Red Chili powder
Jaggery (shredded) and Salt to taste
½ Cup Coconut (shredded)
¼ Cup Coriander
For Tadka
2 Table spoon Oil
1 Tea spoon Mustard
1 Tea spoon Cumin Seed
¼ Tea spoon Asafetida
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric

Preparation
Wash and slit the Tondli vertically
Heat the kadhai and roast Dry Coconut and Sesame seeds till color change in to light brown and then prepare a thick powder.
Then mix the Coconut, Coriander, dry Coconut-Sesame powder, Garam Masala, Red Chili powder, Salt, Jaggery and fill it in the place where the Tondli has been slit.
Heat the Oil in a Kadhai and prepare Tadka then add Tondli, mix it well and cover with a plate with some Water, cook for 8- 10 minutes on slow sim.
