Recipe for Green Chickpea Rice

This is a Recipe for preparing Green Chickpea Rice a traditional Maharashtrian rice recipe. This rice dish is also commonly called as Solane Bhat.

Green Chickpea Rice Preparation Time:20 Minutes
Serves: 5 Persons

2 Cup Basmati Rice (Wash& keep aside for 20 minutes)
½ Cup Green Chickpea
1 ½ Tea spoon Garam Masala
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric
1 Tea Spoon Lemon juice
¼ Cup Coriander
¼ Cup Coconut (shredded)
4 Cup Water
Salt to taste

For Tadka
1 Table spoon Oil
1 Tej patta
5-6 Black Pepper
2-3 Cloves
2 Brown Cardamoms

In a Pressure cooker heat the Oil and prepare tadka. Then add the Rice and fry till color change in to light pink. Then add the Green Chickpea. Garam Masala, Turmeric, Salt and mix it all nicely. Then add 4 cup hot water and keep in the Pressure cooker till you get 2 whistles.
