Recipe for Cabbage Rice

This is a easy to understand Recipe for preparing at home Cabbage Rice. This is an authentic and traditional Indian rice recipe called Gobi Pulao in Hindi and Kobi Cha Bhat. This recipe is similar to the Recipe for Brinjal Rice; only the Brinjal has to be replaced with the Cabbage.

Preparation Time- 25 Minutes
Serves- 4 Persons

2 cup of Rice
4 cup Water
1 cup Cabbage (fine cut)
2 tea spoon Garam Masala
1 Onion (fine cut)

Masala – Tejpata, Laung, Black Pepper, Sahajeera
2 table spoon oil
Juice of 1 Lemon
Coriander [finely chopped] & Coconut [grated] for sprinkling on the cooked rice.

Wash the rice 30 minutes prior to cooking, and keep aside.
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and put the Masala, Onion, Cabbage & Rice and fry until color change in to light brown, then mix hot water, lemon juice, Garam Masala powder, Salt & wait for two whistles of the pressure cooker.
Spread Coriander & Coconut over the cooked rice and serve hot.
