Recipe for Kandyachi Bhaji (Onion Pakoras)

This is a very simple Recipe for preparing Kurkurit and Khamang Maharashtrian Kandyachi Bhaji (Onion Pakoras). This crisy and delicious Onion Pakoda is prepared in Maharashtra for Break fast or as a side dish during meals. This is one of the most popular fast food snack items in restaurants, roadside eateries and stalls.

Preparation Time: 45 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
5-6 Big Onions (cut in fine pieces)
2 Cup Besan (Chana Dal Floor)
2 Tea spoon Red Chili Powder
½ Tea spoon Turmeric
1 Cup Coriander (cut in small pieces)
2 -3 Green Chilies (cut in small pieces)
4 Table spoon Oil
1 Tea spoon Ajwain (grounded)
7-8 Leaves Kadipatta (cut in small pieces)
Salt to taste
2 pinches cooking Soda
Oil for Frying

Preparation
Cut the Onion in fine pieces and then add red Chili powder, Turmeric, Ajwain, Kadipatta, Coriander and Salt and then mix it nicely.
Heat the 4 table spoon oil and then add in to the mixture, mix it nicely and keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
After that add Besan and mixed it nicely (do not used water)
Then add cooking soda and again mix it.
Heat the Oil in the frying pan and prepare the Bhaji on slow sim.
Serve hot with Tomato Sauce or Chutney.
