Healthy and Nutritious Dalia Upma

This is a simple to implement Recipe for making at home Dalia [ Broken Wheat] Upma/Upit or Broken Wheat Upma. The Daliya Upma is not only good to taste but also healthy and nutritious and can make a good breakfast dish for growing children.

Preparation Time: 25 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
2 Cup Daliya (broken wheat)
1 Teaspoon Oil
1 Big Size Onion (chopped)
1 Medium Size Carrot
¼ Cup Green Peas
7-8 French Beans
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
¼ Cup Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Salt and Sugar as per taste

For the Tadka
1 Tablespoon Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
2-3 Green Chilies (chopped)
¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
7-8 Curry Leaves

Preparation
Heat the Oil in a Kadai and add the Daliya, mix it well and saute for 2-3 minutes on a slow flame.
Wash and cut the Carrot, Beans, Onion and Coriander Leaves.
Heat the Oil in a Kadai and add the Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves, Onion, Green Chili and saute for 2 minutes and add the Beans, Carrot, Green Peas and saute for two minutes.
Then add the Broken Wheat, Salt, Lemon Juice and 4 cups warm Water.
Mix it well and cover the Kadai with a plate.
Serve hot. Before serving add the Sugar, Coriander Leaves.
