Simple Recipe for Instant Semolina Idli

This is a most simple Recipe for making at home Quick or Instant Semolina or Rava Idli. This variation of making the Idli takes hardly any time or effort and is extremely suitable for the new home-maker. This is a handy recipe to know when hard-pressed for time.

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 12 Nos Semolina Idli

2 Cups Suji/ Semolina/ Rawa
1 Cup Yogurt (curd)
1 Tablespoon Oil
2 Tablespoon Water
Salt as per taste
1 Teaspoon Eno
Oil for applying the Idli Mold

Instant Rava Idli

Heat the Water in a Pressure Cooker or Idli Patra. Apply the Oil over the Idli Mold.

In a bowl mix the Suji, Curd, Salt and Oil. Then add the Eno and mix it well, while mixing the batter the batter will become fluffy.

Pour the Batter into the Idli Mold. Then insert the Mold into the Pressure Cooker and close the Cooker with a lid. Remove the whistle and steam the Idli for 10-12 minutes on a medium flame. Remove the Mold from the Pressure Cooker and keep it aside for five minutes for cooling.

Remove the Idli and serve hot with Coconut Chutney or Sambar.
