Simple Recipe for Safed Dhokla

This is a simple and easy to follow Recipe for making at home White Dhokla or Safed Dhokla as this popular Indian Snack is called in the Hindi language.

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
1 Cup Rice
½ Cup Urad Dal
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
A Pinch Soda by-carb
Salt as per taste
1 Teaspoon Oil

Preparation
Wash and soak the Rice and Urad Dal separately for 7-8 hours.
Grind the Rice and Urad Dal together to make a thick fine paste and keep it aside for 7-8 hours.
Apply the Oil from the inside of a stainless steel flat container.
Mix the grounded paste, Salt and Soda by-carb and pour the Dhokla Mixture into the container and sprinkle the Black Pepper Powder and Red Chili Powder over the Mixture.
In a Cooker add some Water and keep a medium size container in the cooker and keep the Dhokla Mixture container inside the container.
Remove the whistle of the Pressure Cooker and let the Dhokla Mixture steam for approximately 10-12 minutes.
Then remove the cooked Dhokla from the cooker and cut into medium size pieces.
Serve the White Dhokla with Tomato Sauce.
