This is a Recipe for preparing at home nutritious Bottle gourd Paratha/ Thalipeeth. This Paratha makes the use of Besan and Doodhi Bhopla as the main ingredients to prepare a tasty and delicious Paratha. This Paratha is known in Marathi as Doodhi Bhopla Paratha or Lauki Ka Paratha.
The healthy and filling Lauki Paratha makes a good Tiffin Box dish for Children.
Preparation Time-30 Minutes
1 Cup Bottle gourd (shredded)
2 Cups Wheat Flour [Gehu Ka Atta
2 Tablespoon Gram Flour (Besan)
1 ½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Aniseeds (Badisauf Powder)
¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
1 Teaspoon Coriander- Cumin Seeds Powder [Dhaniya-Jeera Powder]
1 Tablespoon Oil
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying the Dudhi Bhopala Paratha
Wash, remove the skin and shred the Bottle gourd.
Then add the Wheat Flour, Besan, Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, Aniseed Powder, Hing, Coriander-Cumin Seeds Powder, Salt, and Oil and mix it well.
Add some Water and prepare thick Dough. Keep the Dough aside for 10-15 minutes.
Prepare medium size balls and roll them like a Chapatti.
Heat the Tawa and roast the Paratha from the both sides by using Oil.
Serve hot with Ghee and Pickle or Tomato Sauce.
