This is a simple to implement Recipe for making at home tasty and delicious typical Maharashtrian Style Cabbage or Gobi-Urad Dal Padoke or Vade. This Cabbage-Urad Dal Pakora is crispy and can be served as a standalone snack, for breakfast os an add-on to the main course meals. It caan also be most popular tiffin-box item for school going children.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
½ Cup Urad Dal
1 Green Chili (chopped)
½ Teaspoon Asafoetida
¾ Cup Kobi/Cabbage (finely chopped)
½ Cup Onion (finely chopped)
1 Tablespoon Green Peas (boil)
¼ Cup Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep-frying the Cabbage-Urad Dal Pakodas

Preparation
Wash and soak the Urad Dal in Water for at least 2 hours.
Finely chop the Onion, Cabbage, and Coriander Leaves.
Drain the Water from the Urad Dal and grind in a mixer with Green Chili, Asafoetida and ¼ Cup water.
Remove the grounded paste into a bowl and add the Onion, Cabbage, Coriander, Salt and mix it well.
Heat the Oil in a Kadai.
Wet your fingers, take some batter and make a hole in the center using your thumb.
Insert the Pakoda gently into the hot Oil and deep fry on a medium flame until it turns golden brown in color from all the sides.
Serve hot with Tomato Sauce.
