Rajma Masala (Red Kidney Beans)

This is a simple and easy to implement Recipe for making at home typical Punjabi Style Rajma Masala (Red Kidney Beans). A simple, yet filling and wholesome main course dish for any of the daily meal, which is most popular in North India, especially the state of Punjab.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
1 Cup Rajma (राजमा) (soak in Water for 12 hours)
¼ Cup Onion (chopped)
½ Cup Tomato (chopped)
1 Medium size Potato (boiled and mashed)
1 Tea spoon Rajma Masala
1 Table spoon Coriander (chopped)
½ Table spoon Oil
¼ Tea spoon Asafoetida
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric Powder
Salt as per taste

Preparation
Soak the Rajma in Water for 12 hours and then cook it.
Heat the Oil in a Kadhai and add the Asafoetida, Onion, Tomato and fry for three-four minutes on a slow flame.
Then add the Turmeric Powder, Salt, cooked Rajma, mashed Potato, Rajma Masala, Coriander  and a cup of Water. Mix it well and cook for five minutes on a slow flame.
Serve hot with a Paratha or Rice.
