Recipe for Karlya che Lonche

This is a very simple Recipe for making at home Authentic Maharashtrian Style Karlya Che Lonche (Bitter Gourd Pickle). This Maharashtrian version of the Karele Ka Achar is very tasty, it takes hardly any time to prepare and can add taste to any kind of meal, including breakfast and the main course.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 2 Persons

Ingredients
2 Small Bitter Gourd (cut in slices)
1 Table spoon Lemon Juice
1 Tea spoon Red Chili powder
¼ Tea spoon Turmeric powder
1 Table spoon Chili pickle masala
Salt as per taste

For Tadka
2 Table spoon Oil
½ Tea spoon Mustard seeds
½  Tea spoon Fenugreek seeds (Methi dane)
¼ Tea spoon Asafoteida

Preparation
Wash the Bitter gourd and cut in slices.

Heat the Oil in a Kadhai and then add Mustard seeds, Fenugreek Seeds and Asafoetida.

Then add Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt and slices of Bitter Gourd. Mix it well and cover with a stain less steel plate and cook for 5  to 7 minutes on a slow flame.

Remove the plate and then add Lemon juice and Chili Pickle Masala. Mix it well and cook for 2 minutes on a slow flame.

Serve with Chapatti.
