Recipe for Sweet Karelas

This is a step by step Recipe for Sweet Karelas Vegetable Dish or Meethe Karele Ki Sabzi in Hindi and Karlyachi God Bhaji in Marathi. A vegetable recipe for the lovers of Karalas.

Ingredients
1 Kg Karelas
100 Gram Tomatoes (chopped finely)
1 Tea spoon red Chili powder
½ Tea spoon Turmeric powder
1 Tea spoon Coriander powder
½ Pod or 8 flasks Garlic
2.5 Cm piece of Ginger
4 Green Chilies
½ Bunch Coriander leaves
Oil
Salt to taste

Preparation
Scrap Karelas and slit lengthwise. Wash and apply Salt and keep aside for at least 4 or 5 hours. Again wash the Karelas and keep aside.
Mince the Ginger and Garlic together. Ina a pan, heat Oil. Add Karelas, one by one, and deep fry till a golden brown. Drain.
In a separate pan, heat a little Oil. Fry Ginger, Garlic and Chili paste. Add chopped Tomatoes, Turmeric, Red Chili and Coriander powder. Cook till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Add water and cook Karelas. A thick gravy should form. Add Salt. Serve garnished with Coriander leaves.
