The Dal Chana [Harbara Dal, Bengal gram, Chickpea] you come across every day in your kitchen can be turned into a tasty and easy to prepare snack. There is not much effort required for preparing this simple, yet wholesome and filing snack.
The simple recipe described by me in this article for preparing Chat Pat Fried Dal Chana uses only the basic ingredients, you can add other spices as per your liking to modify the preparation if you desire.
Dal Chana – 100 Grams
Red Chili Powder [Lal Mirch Powder] as per taste
Salt as per taste
Cooking Oil for deep frying the Dal Chana
Juice of One Nimbu [Lime]
Soak the Dal Chana in water for six hours.
Remove from the water and let it dry well by keeping the Dal on a piece of dry cloth so as to remove the water.
Heat a Kadai and deep-fry, do not let the Dal Chana Blacken.
Add the Lal Mirch and Salt as per taste, when the Dal Chana is still warm.
Add Fresh Lime Juice and Serve.
