Recipe for Pithale

This is a Recipe for preparing Pithale. Pithale is a main course Maharashtrian dish prepared using Gram Flour as the main ingredient and is a part and parcel of the diet of common folks in Maharashtra.

Ingredients
2 Cup Besan (Gram Flour)
2 Onions
2 Tomatoes
1 Cup Coriander leaves
Salt and Sugar to taste

For Tadka
4 Table spoon Oil
1 Tea spoon Mustard Seeds
½ Tea spoon Cumin seeds
¼ Tea spoon Asafetida
10 Curry leaves
6-7 Cloves Garlic (thick paste)
1 Inch pieces Ginger (grated)

Preparation
Heat Oil. Add Mustard, Cumin seeds, Asafetida, and brown. Add Chopped Onion, chopped Tomatoes. Cook till done. Add Besan mixed with six cups of Water (no lumps), Salt and Sugar and Coriander leaves. Stir and simmer till cooked well. Very Delicious and serve with Rice. A typical farm mealin Maharashtra. While serving you can add 1 table spoon of Ghee, Onion and roasted Papad.
