Recipe for Dal Pakoda

This is a Recipe for preparing at home crisp and tasty Restaurant Style Moong Dal Pakoda or Moong Dal Bhaji in Marathi. This is a great snack for parties, which can also be served along with the main course.
The simple and easy to follow recipe given by me makes the preparation of the Moong Dal Pakoda extremely simple.

Preparation Time: 45 Minutes
Serves: 4 Persons

Ingredients
2 Cups Moong Dal (Green Gram Dal)
1 Big size Onion (Pyaz)
Four Green Chilies (Hari Mirch)
1” Ginger piece (Adrak Ka Tukda)
7-8 Curry Leaves (Kadipatta)
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
¼ Cup Coriander (Dhaniya Patte)
¼ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
¼ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying

Preparation
Soak the Moong Dal for 2-3 hours, finely chop the Onion, and chop the Coriander.
Roughly, grind the Moong Dal, Green Chilies, Ginger and ¼-cup water. Then mix the grounded Moong Dal mixture, Onion, Asafoetida, Turmeric Powder, Coriander, Cumin Seeds, Curry leaves and Salt.
Heat the Oil in a Kadhai, drop a teaspoon mixture one by one in to the hot Oil, and dip fry until it become crispy.
Serve hot with Tamarind Chutney or Tomato Sauce.
