Recipe for Sukha Padwal Ki Sabzi

This is a very simple to implement step-by step recipe for preparing at home Dry or Sukha Chichinda or Padwal, called as the Snake gourd in English. This is a simple, yet wholesome vegetable dish for the main course, which goes nicely with Rice, Puris or Parathas.

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 10 Persons

Ingredients
Snake Gourd/ Padwal/Chichinda 1 Kilogram
Vanaspati 100grams
Chopped Onions 100 grams
Turmeric 10 grams
Red Chilies 10 grams
Salt 10 grams
Fresh Chopped Ginger 10 grams
Garam Masala 5 grams

Preparation
Wash the Snake gourd and then scrape off the outer skin with a knife.
Cut the Snake gourd into rings and then remove the hard inside pulp.
Heat the Vanaspati in a Kadai and then add the chopped Onions and cook until browned.
Then add the Turmeric, Red Chilies, chopped Ginger and Salt and cook a little by adding water, if necessary.
Add the Snake gourd, cove with a lid and cook until tender.
Remove from the flame and sprinkle with the Garam Masala,
Serve Hot.

Note- take the ingredients in quantity proportionate to your requirements.
