Sabudana Thalipeeth for Fasting Days

This is a simple to follow step-by-step Recipe for preparing at home crisp and tasty Sabudana or Sago Thalipeeth. The Sabudana Thalipeeth is a very delicious and filling snack or breakfast item, which can also be prepared on the days of Upvas/Vrat or fasting.

Sago Thalipeeth Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 5 Thalipeeth

Ingredients
1 Cup Sago (Sabudana)
2 Medium size Potato (boiled)
3 Green Chilies (chopped)
¼ Cup Peanuts thick powder
2 Tablespoon Coriander (chopped)
½ Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
Sugar and Salt as per taste
Ghee for frying the Thalipeth

Preparation:
Wash the Sabudana, add a cup of Water, and keep it aside for 6-7 hours.
Boil the Potatoes, peal and shred them. Chop the green Chilies, roast the Peanuts, remove the skin and grind coarsely.
Mix the soaked Sabudana, shredded Potato, chopped Green Chilies, Peanut Powder, chopped Coriander, Red Chili Powder, Sugar, and Salt and prepare Dough. Then divide the Sabudana mixture into five equal sized portions.
Take a wet plastic paper, put the Sabudana mixture on it and pat it with your hand to make a round Puri Sized Shaped Thalipeeth.
Heat the frying pan and add a tablespoon of the Ghee and shallow fry the Sabudana Thalipeeth from both the sides on a medium flame until it become nicely browned and crispy.
Serve hot with Curds or Green Chutney.
