Recipe for Crispy Fried Frog Legs

The legs of a Frog are the only edible body portion of the body of a frog. Though most people in India might shudder at the thought of eating frog legs, they are considered a delicacy in some parts of the world. Including countries of the Orient and some western countries like France. Even though, I have never tasted frog legs, I am told that they have a taste similar to that of chicken. In this article, I have described a simple recipe for fried frog legs, which is popular in western countries.

Preparing the fried frog legs for use
The frogs legs have to be washed with cold water and then the outer skin has to be pealed out, like a glove and then cooked in boiling water for about 3 minutes. Then they have to be removed from the boiling water, the water has to be drained and they have to be dried and kept aside. This is the standard procedure to use frog legs for any recipe.

Ingredients
Salt and Pepper as per taste
Fine Cracker Powder or Bread Crumbs
A slightly beaten Egg
Fat [Vanaspati Ghee] for Deep-Frying the frog legs

Preparation
Season the frog legs with the Salt and Pepper, then roll over the Cracker Powder or Bread Crumbs, then dip into the Eggs Batter, then roll once again in the Cracker Powder of Bread Crumbs, and keep aside for about 15-20 minutes.

Heat a utensil add the Fat and then Deep- fry the frog legs for about 3 minutes or until browned.

Sever with Maitre D’hôtel Butter or Tartare Sauce.
