Recipe for Badam Puri

This is a recipe for preparing tasty Badam Puri. This is a sweet Puri with a shape like a Badam [almond] and this is the reason why it is call as Badam Puri.

Ingredients
½ kg Maida
100 grams Vansaspati
½ teaspoon Salt
Dry Coconut [grated]

For the syrup
2 big cups of Sugar
1 cup water
A few drops of Kesar [saffron]

Preparation
First rub the Vanaspati nicely and add the salt and the maida and kneed it thoroughly to prepare dough.
Then make small lemon sized balls from the dough and roll them to make small puris.Then fold the puris into triangular shapes by pressing lightly.
Then deep fry them in refined oil till they turn into a nice shade of golden brown.
Then make a thick syrup of the sugar and add color to it.
Then dip the warm puris into the syrup; when well immersed remove them and roll over the grated coconut.
The Badam Puris are ready.
